Swiped this sketch off of Dreamscape's DeviantArt page, originally done by BigGunn based off my photo from this summer. I like the treatment of the image in this one... maybe he'll flesh it out at some point.

Sorry to miss this one... and Free $50?

Dennis and Eddie, certainly an odd pairing, but this is an event I'd love to attend. Sadly, it's up in Cleveland and I'm going to be attempting to drive back from Chicago, so won't be able to make it. This is another one of those weekends where everything seems to be happening everywhere at once. So, if you're in Cleveland, go to this thing and videotape it for me... maybe CSPAN will be there?
Dennis is one of the few actual progressives in Congress, and one of the few members to have the courage to fight for positive change. Even if he's not in your district or even your state, please consider doing the right thing and making a last-minute contribution to Dennis' campaign.
The FREE $50?
Ohio residents can get a $50 tax CREDIT for donating to Dennis (or other political candidates). "The credit is a dollar-for-dollar credit for contributions with a limit of $50 for single filers and $100 for joint filers."
That means that if you live in Ohio and give Dennis $50 today, you can get a credit towards your Ohio state income tax of $50 when you file, so it potentially costs you NOTHING to contribute $50 to Dennis. And while you're at it, why not kick in a little more? Contribute here please!
DISCLAIMER : I'm not an accountant, and this isn't tax advice, but check it out for yourself or check with a tax professional.
The shot is Dreamscapes, one of Eddie Izzard's biggest fans. Someday I'll shoot her covered in bees.

Friends

Just a few of a couple good friends having fun at a photo shoot. Funny, I don't recall seeing anyone so photogenic at my local home improvement superstore...

Exhausted!
Had a whirlwind 3-days of shooting, and managed to set aside the concerns of editing and enjoy working with some exciting new models (well, new to ME) as well as several returning favorites. Nothing to show just yet, but I'm considering something mildly radical in the editing process, so possibly before too long.
Thanks to everyone who made the weekend possible and fun... almost too many to name: Orixx, Spilt Sugar, Suzi, PXE, Minxy D, Nihilus, Lovely Real, Dreamscapes, IXI, Naughtya, Mary, Adrianna, Sage, Kitten, Missy Vinyl, Erin, Deb & Bill, Boyd, JJ, Matt & Krissy, Eric, DVS, Andi, Jesslyn, Xania, Foxy Tigress, and everyone else I got to work with or chat with.
Here's Dreamscapes again from March... I attempted to recreate one of the early Marilyn Monroe nudes from my Swiss-cheese memory, and got it about 30% right, but I'd still say she looks great here. Since I was a ways off remembering the pose, I changed the angle to vertical... perhaps another try soon. :)

"...what dreams may come"

As promised, a couple more lovely Dreamscapes, with more to come.
You may recognize the title of this post from the somewhat overwrought Robin Williams movie of a few years ago, but they lifted it from Shakespeare, Hamlet's soliloquy to be precise. I just finished the audiobook version of "Brave New World" in which the central character quotes Shakespeare at length, which revved up those sorts of references in my mind. I'd not read it since college, so it was interesting to revisit how its dystopian future compared to today's reality. I'd say in many respects, we're well on our way, with its society's "stability through satiation" approach -- prisoners of cheap pleasures, where an individual's primary role in society is that of consumer, not citizen. Overall, I'd say Orwell's "1984" got more things right on a political basis, but both seem quite prescient. Of course, all of these are books students (at least of my generation) were forced to read in high school, so their message might have been clouded by obligation at the time, but revisiting them by choice can lead to new and better insights. Check 'em out.
And now, back to bed. To sleep, perchance to dream...

Bonjour NuExpo.com readers...
Welcome to readers of France's NuExpo.com online photography magazine...
For everyone else, you can check out the feature/interview here, even though it's been translated into French. The Altavista translation back to English is pretty comical, so I think I'll post the original English text of it as a comment to this entry if you'd care to read it. Probably still pretty comical.
Thanks to the models whose photos are featured: Dreamscapes (above), Rose, Sabrina, London Andrews, Zinn Star, Amaya, Plain Jayne Jones, Sativa/Nikki, Penny, Carlotta Champagne, and Engel Schrei. Also, thanks to Dave Levingston for the "in action" photo that is somehow the largest image in the feature, LOL. And thank you François from NuExpo.com for inviting me to be a part of your outstanding publication.

Heated Exchange

A few shots to heat up a chilly winter night... Dreamscapes and Miss Kittie.
Should be a good weekend, cryptically speaking... hope yours is, too.
