Been trying to play a little more with shallow depth-of-field using a regular lens, rather than a Lensbaby. Here are a couple examples from a shoot last fall with Vassanta that I just got around to editing. These were made with the Sigma 30mm f1.4, but I've been encouraged by the results to the point where I'm considering the Canon 50mm f1.4... don't think I can justify another thousand bucks for the f1.2 though.
Speaking of editing, I'm happy to report that I'm very close to "catching up" on editing and getting images owed to models out. A very light shooting schedule, combined with some workflow simplifications seems to be helping. I'll probably keep the shooting light so I don't get too far ahead of myself again. Plenty of other things on my proverbial "to do" list...

Erotic Review Reader's Choice Winner
Was just a little bit floored to see the news that my shot of Spilt Sugar won the Reader's Prize in the Erotic Review Photographer of the Year contest. With over 400,000 votes cast, my thanks to all of you who took the time to support me in the voting! Congratulations to Frédéric Fontenoy for winning the judge's prize, and to all the other winners.
Special thanks to Spilt Sugar for being such an expressive model, and for not being afraid to be a little risqué for the shot. She's an excellent photographer in her own right as well... check out her blog here. Wish I could karaoke with you this weekend!
I managed to be a runner-up in last year's Reader's Choice voting, so I'm excited to have improved upon that this time. This is especially welcome news after a couple recent disappointments. I do think I'll have more good news to share soon (fingers crossed) so stay tuned!

Sleeping Knights of Jesus
Put your faith in God, he won't expect you
Put your faith in death because it's free
If you believe in nothing, honey, it believes in you
For God's sake don't waste any faith on me
